My Story

Hello,

I’m Laura, the artist and photographer behind LJ Creative Studios, which I launched in May 2016.

How It All Began

I earned a Fine Art degree from Nottingham Trent University, graduating with First Class Honours, and I have always had a deep passion for creating art that stirs emotions.

Upon graduating, I entered the marketing field, where I still work part-time today, utilising my creative skills to promote businesses and design their marketing materials.

After moving into a spacious farmhouse I rediscovered my cherished paintings that had been stored at my parents’ house. This experience reminded me of how much I missed creating art. As I decorated our home with my pieces, the joy and compliments from friends and family reignited my confidence, prompting me to take the leap back into the art world.

Re-entering the Art Scene

Returning to art after a long break felt daunting—would it be as simple as riding a bike, picking up a paintbrush and painting without hesitation? Honestly, it took me about a year to regain my confidence. I found myself more critical of my work than before, scrutinising each brushstroke. However, as commissions began to pour in, I realised I indeed had the ability to establish my own art business.

Thus, LJ Creative Studios was born. Living as a farmer’s wife on a working farm, my daily experiences heavily influence my artwork.

I offer:

  • COMMISSIONS
  • ORIGINAL COUNTRYSIDE PAINTINGS
  • GICLEE PRINTS – LIMITED EDITION & PHOTOGRAPHY PRINTS
  • CARDS
  • HOMEWARE & GIFT RANGE

I am continuously expanding my product lineup and am currently developing a new homeware collection, so stay tuned!

What Sets Me Apart

  • I create each design using acrylic paint on canvas, wood, or paper. My homeware and gift items are printed with inks that match the original artwork.
  • Each new product undergoes thorough testing to ensure high quality and colour fidelity to the original paintings.
  • I exclusively partner with UK manufacturers, as supporting small businesses and ensuring my products are made in the UK is essential to me.
  • It’s a one-woman show! In addition to painting, I design the gift ranges, create packaging, photograph my work, manage my website and social media, and package all orders. Each item is sent with love. I truly appreciate the support and kind feedback from my customers, and I do a happy dance every time I receive an order.

I hope you enjoy exploring the paintings and products I have to offer.

Warm regards,

Laura x
